Life's Tough

You have to admit that for most of us, life is pretty sweet. After all, many of us live in nice suburbs and homes, drive nice cars, and don't have to worry about paying bills. However, for others life isn't as easy. Some people around our age (yes, our age) don't have parents, don't drive nice cars, and have to work two jobs to pay rent. These people overcome their odds everyday and for that, I salute them. An article I read on nytimes.com described four different young adults who had the odds stacked up against them but somehow managed to overcome them. These people's stories may be sad and depressing, but at the same time uplifting because they show how extraordinary certain individuals are and remind you to value what you have. There are others much, much worse off than you and I think that most of us forget that sometimes. It's important to take a second every now and then, to evaluate your lifestyle and cherish it; not to take things for granted... to be content with what you have. Don't forget... there is always someone worse off than you.
