I am Irish... I like being Irish... my name is Irish (O'Grady)... and on March 17 us Irish (and the non-Irish too I suppose) will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day. According to Wikipedia, "The day is an annual feast day which celebrates St. Patrick, one of the patron saints of Ireland". It is celebrated by most everyone from all sorts of different countries who might not even be Irish (or Christian for that matter). The day is a National Holiday Ireland but sadly, not in the US. During the day of St. Patrick, people celebrate by wearing green, drinking Irish beer, watching parades, and by feasting on Irish foods. In Chicago, Illinois the Chicago River is even died green for the celebration.
Overall, St. Patrick's Day is a fun day for everyone and is popular among all crowds - Irish or not.
