Gender Roles in America

Has the war between the sexes finally ended? According to a national survey conducted years ago, it has. In the earlier half of the 20th century, women's equality ceased to exist. Women were restricted in numerous ways and were expected to be obedient housewives who cooked and cleaned. That has changed immensely. Today, women are equally as important as men and compete with them in most every field. What's interesting though, is that large majorities of the men and women polled said that it would be better if women could stay home and take care of the house and children. Yes, things have progressed over the years but the fact of the matter is gender roles are still prevalent in society today. To be honest, I don't think they will dissolve anytime soon either; man and woman are just too different.
