According to an article I read, President-elect Barack Obama wants to postpone the switch from analog to digital television. Obama wants to wait due to funding issues, the failure of the coupon program, and overall confusion. FCC Chief, Kevin Martin believes that the nation is ready and even more confusion would be created if the switch was postponed. Martin isn't alone; many broadcast companies, who are now operating two transmitters, cannot afford to wait... literally. 

Michells Vetterkind, president of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association said, "No matter when the deadline is, there will always be some who are not going to be prepared."
