The Economy Strikes Again

According to an article I read, the unemployment rate of college-educated workers has skyrocketed in the last year. In the past, a college degree was like a type of insurance in a recession. But that is no longer the case. The current recession is so far reaching that college-educated workers are beginning to become unemployed. Although the unemployment rate of college degree holders is only 3.1% (compared to the national unemployment rate at 6.7%) it is hasn't been so high since 2003. Experts believe that the climb won't stop anytime soon and even expect the unemployment rate to surpass 4% - the highest the rate has ever been since the Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking unemployment by education level in 1970.
